The job market in the nursing sector has changed dramatically in recent years.

 

Many institutions can now choose their trainees and skilled workers because they receive enough applications from all over the world.

 

The reliability of recruitment agencies is playing an increasingly important role. German companies are paying more attention to ensuring that applicants are not recruited by disreputable agencies abroad. These agencies often charge candidates exorbitant fees – frequently ten times what is customary in Germany.

 

The real work, however, does not take place abroad, but in Germany: intermediaries here handle the majority of the administrative burden. This includes coordinating with companies, supporting the recognition process, organizing visa and entry formalities, and providing guidance throughout the entire integration process.

 

Furthermore, the so-called "chain transfer" is legally and morally problematic – when one intermediary takes over candidates from another intermediary and demands high sums without having invested any work himself.

 

This is doubly disadvantageous for applicants, as they have to bear high costs while the actual support takes place in Germany.
